2 month‘s ago i sold my mother‘s vespa hand 3 speed color blue grey 125cc from 1968.
I thought i did a good buy for a hexagon 1996 and some money to spare but the frame had it problem‘s that could not be repaired.
So i took of the engine and other things that could be saved etc...
Last weekend my brother came by and had a frame of a piaggio sp water cooled (from the police scrap yard) almost everything on it, only the engine was missing and some other small stuff.
We replaced the front brake system of the sp with the hexagon‘s we had to change a few things to fit the hexagon‘s motor into the sp and replaced the cooling a very thight fitting and made some other change‘s.
Everything was set the only problem was the small gasoline tank 7,8 liter, everything ready and checked first try to start.
It started no problems mixture okay etc.. everything was going well now a cool of 15 min.
After 15 min we started again, no problems here again (don‘t do this because you‘re not insured) now ready for a road test.
THe piaggio sp frame is much stronger (stiffer) and thighter it‘s going into the corners like the lightning.
Top speed for a 125cc engine in a piaggio sp frame is do not be shocked 141km and the fuel consumtion is almost the same for a hexagon 125.
By dutch law it is permitted to drive ore have test it‘s street‘s legal conformation. I‘ve talked with these people if i place the the engine in a runner frame then the test would be no problem etc...
By change i can get a legal frame semi broken down frame and place everything on to it. With in a week it‘s possible that my mother can drive her hexagon (rebuild off course) again.
The wheel of the old runner do fit but you‘ve to change the frame etc...
I‘f any questions please ask them i‘m here to help as all the other member‘s
